A FRENCH 19TH CENTURY LOUIS XV ST. MARBLE AND GILT BRONZE CASSOLETTE.
The elegant urn is raised by a square marble base with concave corners with a wrap around ormolu band at the socle pedestal.
The marble body is incased by ormolu palmettes and displays most decorative handles at each side with detailed mascaroons connected by beautiful richly chased rinceau shaped scrolled foliate movements.
The lightly curved necks display detailed wrap around bands beneath the ormolu lid toped by an acorn finial.
All original gilt throughout.
