After the renowned model made by Jacques Dubois (1693-1763) for the Château du Raincy known as the « Choiseul desk » now preserved at the Musée du Louvre.

The desk is raised by four ormolu mounted cabriole legs, with impressive richly chased corner mounts.

The elegant scalloped shaped Kingwood apron displays three drawers at the front as well as three dummy drawers at the back each decorated with superb richly chased scrolled foliate ormolu pulls set on stunning wonderfully executed tulipwood marquetery panels.

Above is a fitted Moroccan leather writing surface with a fine gold tooled border and central reserve leather with an elegant mottled ormolu wrap around gallery.
