This unusual black patina orientalist clock is of an Egyptian méhariste on dromadery back he is holding his riffle with the right hand and the reins with the other.

The beautiful red enamel dial located on the saddle has white roman numerals, the sculpture is raised by a naturalistic oval base above four palmed feet.

During the Egyptian campaign Napoléon Bonaparte created a regiment of dromadary cavaler cavelery on the 9th of January 1799.
