A PAIR OF FRENCH 19TH CENTURY NEOCLASSICAL ST. BRONZE, ORMOLU AND BLACK MARBLE CANDELABRAS SIGNED ROBERT L.V.E (1821-1874).

This Charming true pair of patinated bronze candelabras are raised by an octagonal base below the centrale black marble column with a fluted design.

The bronzes depict wonderfully executed female maidens dressed in classical attire with ribbons in their hair.

They are holding the basket put on their heads with one arm, supporting the elegantly curved eight arm ormolu candelabras adorned with scrolling acanthus leaves finishing in saucers and candle cups.

At the top are two herons with their wings and beaks open.
Wonderful attention to detail and original gilt throughout.
