These rare and unusual pair of lamps are raised by an elegant circular base beneath the strikingly colorful and beautifully shaped opaline bodies.

At the center are three bands centered by two wonderfully executed hand painted portraits of Indian dignitaries.

The handsome fluted necks are incased by lovely scrolled handles, leading up to the original finely engraved and perfectly conserved Néo-Pompéan globes depicting scenes of daily life.

These lamps are a perfect highlight of the commercial and cultural exchanges that took place between the Roman Empire and India.
